Flokken denne dag talte små to hundrede.
The quite windy weather which has been typical for the first part of the winter, makes the chances for finding amber a lot higher. Around Christmas a lot of people have been out searching along the coast. Washed up material from the sea lies in a broad zone of maybe 20-30 m. and for the northern to the southern tip of the island. Between mussels, crabs and extremely many tubes from the Worm called Lanice conchilega. Here the amber can be found, but also the snow bunting, which seeks for something to eat here. They are constantly moving, but seem to trust you, if you stand still.
I used a little time to sketch them, as the group of around 200 birds came closer.
Even though they show up very white they hide very well in this landscape. Often you discover them only when they fly away from you.
